Project Cost Estimator
Role

 Under the guidance of the Leader of Capital Projects Estimating within the Worldwide Engineering and Construction Organization, this role will manage and execute estimates for assigned capital projects. The Project Estimator holds overall responsibility and accountability for the estimating function, supporting both project-related activities and Eastman's capital program.

 

Responsibilities: 


Estimate Preparation and Validation:
•    Prepare various types of capital estimates for industrial construction projects.
•    Create, review, and validate domestic and international estimates for Eastman Chemical Company.
•    Conduct risk analysis on project estimates.


Collaboration and Information Gathering:
•    Interface with project teams to understand project scope.
•    Gather necessary information from contractors and Eastman teams to build accurate estimates.


Presentation and Decision Support:
•    Present estimates to project teams and management to support corporate growth initiatives, strategy, and project approvals.


Database Management and Trend Monitoring:
•    Develop and maintain the Aspen Capital Cost Estimator database and Eastman EstWeb.
•    Stay updated on the latest software technology, industry cost trends, and monitor escalation forecasts and inflationary pressures on capital costs.
•    Maintain estimating processes and procedures.

Qualifications

•    Five (5) years’ experience in estimating for capital construction projects in an industrial, engineering or manufacturing environment is required. 
•    Advanced proficiency with the applicable software applications (i.e., Microsoft Office) to provide information and analysis of project data. 
•    Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines while effectively managing multiple priorities.
•    Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex project estimates and reports to project teams and project management is critical.

 

What Will Make You Stand Out:
•    An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management Information, Business, Finance, or Accounting.
•    Experience with Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE).
