The role of the Project Delivery Leader (PDL) is to provide technical and project management leadership. The PDL will implement best practices for setting up project delivery teams, and work with Project Managers to schedule resources, including BIM and project coordination. ThePDL will partner with our Area and Water Quality Teams to confirm quality processes are being followed and quality programs and reviews achieve the desired goal, not merely satisfying the policy. PDL will be engaged during project deliveries with the Project Management Team and recommend course corrections to the Professional Services Leader and Water Area Business Group Manager.

As a team leader, PDL works with other managerial staff to ensure project completion efficiently. He/she oversees each phase of the project delivery cycle so that the team meets company specifications, and industry standards of care and complies with federal and state regulations.

In the role of Project Delivery Leader, we'll count on you to:

Has a key understanding of workload needs, staffing resources and collaborates within HDR matrix to work share and deliver projects and programs.Develops and maintains a workload projection tool to use to coordinate BIM and project coordination services.Implements and automated workload project tool once HDR rolls out Workplan in EBS.Benchmark and establish technical development goals for the position’s area of responsibility.Will be responsible to integrate systems engineering, digital delivery and management dashboards into the appropriate projects and work with PMs for implementing on projects.Identifies key hires and work with Area and Business Group representatives to recruit new expertise.Is responsible to perpetuate the delivery of quality work to our clients.Engages in WBG discussions and participates in key reviews.Will be aware of which contracts were deemed risky by contract language or technical scope and actively work with Project Managers to follow risk mitigation plans.Perform other duties as needed #LI-JF1

Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Sciences, Business Administration, or a closely related field.The PDL must have strong leadership qualities, as well as excellent communication skills.The PDL should be able to negotiate with team members in a reasonable and professional manner and be comfortable navigating the HDR operational matrix.The PDL must have excellent communication skills, including comfortably presenting to internal HDR management, client executives and in front of a large audience in a public setting.The PDL shows evidence of excellent problem-solving skills as well as keen analytical abilities.The PDL has strong leadership qualities, as well as excellent communication skills.Familiar with the various tools used to manage large programs – PMIS, CMIS, scheduling, cost control, document management, risk management, asset management, dashboard analytics, etc.The resumes of these professionals should reflect an understanding of new technologies and cutting-edge methods in the field of civil works engineering.It is vital that the PDL constantly stay up to date on new innovations in design delivery, use of AI and various alternative delivery methods.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty such as civil, structural or rail.A minimum of 15 years of related experience, including 10 years in a supervisory role, preferably managing a team of ten or more engineers and an outstanding record of successful projects.The PDL needs to be registered and have practiced in California for a minimum of 5 years.Willingness to travel.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Required Qualifications
