Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer responsible for designing material handling equipment such as conveyor belts and other machinery. The role involves receiving specific requirements from the facility, designing solutions, adding capacity, retrofitting areas for new equipment, or rearranging existing equipment within the facility. The engineer will figure out site layouts, write RFPs, work with vendors for site selection, and handle engineering design and handoff to execution. The position requires up to 50% travel for site visits.
ResponsibilitiesDesign material handling equipment such as conveyor belts and other machinery.Receive and fulfill specific requirements from the facility.Design solutions for adding capacity, retrofitting areas for new equipment, or rearranging existing equipment.Determine site layouts and create scope of work for projects.Write RFPs and work with vendors for site selection.Handle engineering design and handoff to execution.Essential SkillsHands-on design experience in a manufacturing setting.Project management skills.Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, electrical, manufacturing).5-7 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial designs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in mechanical design, machine design, and equipment design.Experience with automation, material handling, and conveyor systems.Knowledge of designing electromechanical equipment, bearings, shafts, and selecting motor sizes.Ability to determine conveyor belt strength and speed based on product weight and speed.Experience in upstream/downstream systems engineering.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00
