Your work environment at EXP
EXP’s Markham office is seeking a Project Designer/Project Coordinator to join our Team. The successful candidate will be joining a fast-paced and rapidly expanding Land Development group.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
•Working closely with Project Managers to provide drafting and design work for Land Development projects including grading, stormwater management, water, sanitary and storm servicing designs.
•Undertake project designs, specifications, and contract documents at a Project Manager’s direction.
•Prepare drawings for submission, as well as provide draft engineering calculations, as-builts, etc.
•Ensuring drawings meet specifications provided.
•Assisting in obtaining all necessary approvals and permits for projects, including those from municipalities, provincial (Ontario) and federal government agencies.
•Assisting in general engineering support during construction and maintenance phases of project, including liaising with internal Field Services team as needed.
•Attending staff, client and project meetings as required.
What your experience looks like
•Must have successfully completed either a degree or diploma at an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
•Must have at least 5-10 years practical experience.
•Strong Civil 3D experience preferred.
•Highly experienced in the use of computer aided design/drafting software including AutoCAD.
•Must have some MS Office skills.
•Must have strong people skills, and ability to work with wide variety of staff and clients plus an ability to mentor and train more junior staff.
•Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Ability to multi-task is critical.
•Must be able to meet deadlines, well organized and able to work under pressure.
•Construction field experience is preferred.
•Any experience in the engineering, consulting or construction industry is preferred.
