Project Development Engineer

Ameresco currently has an opening for a Project Development Engineer to join our Phoenix-based Team to develop and implement energy efficiency and distributed energy projects. This is a hybrid position onsite in our office 2-3 days a week with occasional travel required supporting large C&I client projects.

Responsibilities:

Lead behind-the-meter solar PV, battery storage, and EV charger projects from early stage through constructionEvaluate layout options based on customer site information and as-built drawingsPerform energy modeling and utility cost analysisVisit customer sites to investigate project feasibility and interconnection methodsCoordinate onsite engineering and investigative activities with the utility, outside engineering, surveying, and vendorsMake equipment selections based on project needs, material availability, and costsGenerate project budgets and schedules in conjunction with Pre-ConstructionProvide technical support to Pre-Construction in the request for bids Support Sales on the communication of proposed solutions to customersManage project development schedules and coordinate with outside engineering and vendors on engineering tasksConsolidate and review project deliverables and technical documents generated by outside engineering and vendorsHandle utility interconnections submittals and serve as point of contact with the utilityOrganize jurisdiction submittals and responses through approvalsSupport Project Management team on material procurement and technical support during constructionManage technical components of the commissioning and closeout following completion of constructionPerform other duties as required

 
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction engineering, or related discipline3 or more years of past experience in a relevant industry such commercial, residential, or utility scale solar, EV charging infrastructure, or similar

 
Additional Qualifications: 

Demonstrate ability to interact and work with host customers, equipment vendors, engineers, and utilitiesDisplay excellent interpersonal and communication skillsComfortable presenting to management, leadership, and project stakeholdersTravel up to 25% of the timeFamiliarity with PC software applications Microsoft Office, PVSyst, Energy Toolbase, Procore and Helioscope preferred
