The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Hyper-Scale Project Director of Data Center Construction who will lead and manage large-scale and complex data center projects. This includes overseeing the entire project lifecycle from feasibility, design, construction, and completion. The role requires developing and implementing project strategies, plans, and large-scale budgets. The Project Director is responsible for assembling project delivery teams with the requisite qualifications and experience and working with cross-functional teams to ensure successful initiation, planning, execution, and closure of projects.
ResponsibilitiesYour key responsibilities
Project Planning and Strategy: Developing comprehensive project plans, defining scope, goals, and deliverables in alignment with organizational objectivesTeam Leadership: Leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholdersResource Management: Allocating resources efficiently, managing budgets, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scopeRisk Management: Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and outcomesStakeholder Engagement: Communicating with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, clients, and vendors, to ensure alignment and address any concernsPerformance Monitoring: Tracking project progress through metrics and reporting, adjusting plans as necessary to meet changing requirements or challengesQuality Assurance: Ensuring that all deliverables meet the required quality standards and compliance regulationsInnovation and Improvement: Continuously seeking ways to optimize processes and improve project outcomes through innovative technologies or methodologiesOverall, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects that drive significant growth and innovation within the organization and serve our client needs.
Qualifications
To qualify for the role, you must have
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or other technical discipline and approximately fifteen (15) + of related work experience including five (5) years in a leadership roleProven track record in project management, particularly in the construction industryDemonstrated leadership and team management skills, with experience assembling and leading project delivery teamsExperience in two or more of the following:managing large-scale and complex data center projects with budgets between $50-300M$100M+ projects in sectors like general construction, electrical construction, manufacturing construction, technology or infrastructure (transportation, utilities, communication, buildings or energy) industriesA valid driver’s license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel; travel is estimated at 70+%

Excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersStrong history of leading, motivating and mentoring cross-functional teamsStrong knowledge of construction processes, laws, standards, and regulationsSuccessful background maintaining high safety standards and delivering quality outcomesProficiency in developing and implementing project strategies, plans, and budgets

It helps in creating detailed 3D models and improving collaboration among stakeholdersProject Management Software: Tools like MS Office Suite, CMiC, and P6 are commonly used for managing project schedules, budgets, and resourcesCloud-based Project Management Tools: These tools help in keeping all communications, documents, and tasks in one place, boosting teamwork and coordinationSustainability Practices: Implementing energy-efficient strategies and sustainable construction practices is vital for modern data center project
