Project Director, National Resilience Practice
**This Opportunity** WSP is initiating a search for a **Project Director** to support our company’s growing **Resilience Practice and our Federal and State/Local Business Lines** focused on hazard mitigation. This is a full-time position located in our Portland, OR or Seattle, WA offices. This is a project management and client development position that requires experience in (i) supporting communities and agencies in determining risks and developing effective response strategies (ii) analyzing hazards such as seismic events, wildfire, storm surge, riverine flooding, and changing future conditions (ii) assessing the probable impacts caused by those hazards to our clients’ assets, their services, and our society, and/or (iii) integrating this information into policy, strategies, programs, planning, projects, and decisions to support resilience efforts. You will work with other experts from our various national practices, including engineers, planners, economists, policy specialists, and risk modelers, and expand our organization to meet our growing portfolio of clients. **Your Impact** + Work directly with communities to support their goals of enhancing resilience. + Support communities and agencies in their efforts to traverse complex federal and state funding programs. + Manage multiple projects, delivering on commitments through effective coordination with internal and external resources, including consulting team partners. + Contribute to the continued expansion of the market, through the delivery of existing services and products for new clients and the design and delivery of new services and products aimed at supporting effective decisions and improve capital investments to reduce the effects of future climate-related hazards. + Develop strategic business plans, working with sector leads from within the WSP USA business lines on collaborative engagements. + Represent WSP USA in the marketplace, contributing capabilities and experiences to other WSP offices. **Who You Are** Required Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in engineering, physical sciences, planning or other technical discipline relevant to the assessment and management of community risk + 15+ years of professional experience, including project management, supervision and staff mentoring experience + Management consulting and business development experience + Demonstrated leadership in project design and delivery + Technical capabilities in the assessment and management of multi-hazard risk + Experience working independently, and on efforts requiring remote collaboration + Excellent oral and written communication skills **Preferred Qualifications:** + Post Graduate Education + Knowledge of federal programs administered by FEMA, HUD, and EPA and others. + Experience working for government agencies in a leadership position. + Experience working with diverse stakeholders (e.g., transportation, water, energy, municipal) to address resilience concerns WSP Benefits: WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $114,000 - $210,800 WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
