Project Director – Civil Construction – Kelowna, BC
Due to a promotion, we’re looking for a Project Director to lead the Okanagan operations for our client in the civil construction space.
Reporting to the VP, you’ll be joining a growing firm with a fantastic reputation. While being extremely stable, they are going through a significant growth period and are looking for individuals who shine during these times.
Project Director responsibilities: Project Leadership: Oversee all aspects of project execution, from planning to completion, ensuring alignment with client goals and project specifications. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to timelines. Team Management: Lead and mentor project teams, including project managers, engineers, and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and high performance. Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, maintaining strong relationships and communication throughout the project lifecycle. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on timelines and budgets. Business Development: Play an integral role in estimating/costing out projects and delivering proposals Quality Assurance: Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications, conducting regular inspections and audits. Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and prepare financial reports, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints. Contract Management: Oversee contract negotiations and management with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring all parties fulfill their obligations. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and compliance records, ensuring transparency and accountability. Problem Solving: Address and resolve issues that arise during the project, including technical challenges and team dynamics, to keep the project on track. Sustainability Practices: Integrate sustainable practices and innovations into project planning and execution to minimize environmental impact. The successful candidate has: Geotechnical Engineering Degree (PEng with EGBC) 8+ years of management experience in a civil construction environment Compensation and benefits: $125,000-$150,000 depending on experience, plus bonus Comprehensive benefits package Option to participate in Company Stock Options Plan Only candidates already eligible to work in Canada will be reviewed.
