Job DescriptionAs a Project Director you will be responsible for the overall engineering execution and successful completion of a major Green Steel Project in Germany. This is a senior leadership role requiring a highly experienced, strategic, and results-oriented professional with a proven track record in managing large-scale metallurgical industrial projects, preferably in the steel or sustainable manufacturing sectors.
The Project Director will serve as the key coordinator between the SPOC and the end client, ensuring seamless communication and execution. While you will act as the extended arm for liasoning between the client and TCE, you will also be responsible for managing all communication and coordination at the project site, ensuring alignment between the end-client and SPOC. This position is based in Germany and requires a strong on-site presence to oversee engineering execution, stakeholder engagement, and project performance.
Provide overall leadership and direction to the engineering and project execution teams, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery.Develop and implement strategic execution plans, optimizing schedules, resources, and budgets for successful project completion.Act as the key coordinator between the appointed SPOC and the end client, facilitating effective communication and issue resolution.Manage all on-site interactions and coordination between the client, contractors, and TCE’s home office in India.Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team, including engineers, construction managers, procurement specialists, and regulatory experts.Ensure efficient resource allocation, workforce management, and cross-functional collaboration to meet project milestones.Oversee budget planning, cost control, and financial tracking, ensuring optimal utilization of project funds.Maintain a realistic project schedule, tracking milestones and proactively mitigating potential delays.Ensure Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance adherence to German and EU engineering standardsOversee the procurement of materials and technology, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectivenessProvide regular progress reports to senior management and project stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical, Metallurgical, Civil, or Electrical). A master’s degree in project management or a related field is preferred.10+ Years of experience in metallurgical engineering design or project consulting management.Has experience in engineering management of large-scale metallurgical projects.Strong organizational skills and must have a comprehensive understanding of engineering practices and economic principles in Germany.Proven track record in delivering large-scale projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Deep understanding of industrial project management methodologies, sustainability frameworks, and energy transition strategies.Familiarity with relevant German and EU industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.Experience working in Germany or similar international environments.Fluency in German and English (written and spoken) is a must for regulatory and stakeholder engagement.Additional Information
