Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Electrical Engineer, with strong background in the water-wastewater industry, to join our Resilience Water team in the Columbus, OH area.
The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, electrical controls, lighting, and communications, to support projects for the Water Division.
Role accountabilities:
The role involves supporting projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater facilities and other similar industrial projects, acting as Arcadis’ main point of contact for clients' electrical needs. It includes developing project management skills, such as assisting in managing project budgets and delivery schedules, ensuring the successful execution of scope, schedule, and budget. Key responsibilities encompass electrical design and coordination, with a focus on power distribution, lighting, communications, fire alarm systems, and control systems for new water/wastewater and industrial projects. The design work requires proficiency with CAD programs, such as Autodesk and Bentley products, particularly for electrical systems related to engineering design and construction. The role also includes establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, and developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications. In addition, the role involves performing engineering services during construction, such as reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings, and responding to contractor RFIs (request for information). Field inspections are also part of the duties, where the role assists in construction by identifying deviations from design and ensuring safety compliance. Performing system analysis using tools like ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power systems analysis software is another responsibility. Some travel may be required to meet the needs of the project
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, a related discipline or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Registered Professional Engineer (PE).Key Skills and Attributes:
Prior demonstrated consulting experience with water/wastewater and industrial facilities a must. Experience using AutoCAD MEP (2D and 3D), Revit, SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and/or arc flash analysis, and photometric study (Visual 3D or Dialux). Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code requirements. Willingness and desire to mentor junior/staff electrical engineers. Excellent customer/client service skills. Excellent, clear and concise, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams effectively to complete projects on time and on budget.Why Arcadis?

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $80,461 - $132,761. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
