Project Engineer, Burner Solutions

Cleaver Brooks is looking for a Project Engineer, Burner Solutions to join our team in Lincoln, NE. The Project Engineer is responsible for the selection of all mechanical components and to prepare the documentation for a project. He will assist the drafters, quality control department and production during the execution of the projects. You will be an indispensable asset to the Boiler solutions team.

Job Location: Lincoln, NE

Essential functions:

Conduct and direct engineering projects, necessitating the application of engineering knowledge, along with associated design and drafting effort. Prepare process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID, 2D drawings) Read and review project specifications and select appropriate components Prepare bills of materials (BOM) Perform mechanical calculations (fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, mechanical and others) Prepare various documentation for the projects Contact suppliers and obtain quotations for special equipment Supply technical advices, support and counsels to other departments. Support mechanical and piping designers with their duty. Acquire necessary knowledge involved in the successful accomplishment of his/her duties. Responsible for communicating this knowledge to others. Support service technicians during burner start-up and servicing. Any related task may be requested.

Basic Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required, Mechanical Engineering preferred or related field.

Experience: 

0 - 3 years in Mechanical Engineering, boiler, burner and/or HRSG & Project Engineering or related field preferred. Experience in mechanical engineering (process and instrumentation) Experience with industrial burner systems is an asset. Experience with software used by the department (Inventor, Mathcad, MS Office) Knowledge of industrial piping & instrumentation, welding and welding procedures Knowledge of industrial piping Codes: ASME B31.1, B31.3. Knowledge of fire protection code: NFPA, CSA Ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers. Excellent knowledge of Autocad (mandatory), & communication software Knowledge and experience with Visual Basic and programming in Excel. Possess a very sound theoretical knowledge of thermodynamic, fluid dynamic and mechanics.
