International Controls Software development team is responsible for the development of embedded controls for International trucks. This includes developing software requirements, design, coding, testing, software integration and release. This position is part of the Lab Infrastructure Team. The Lab Infrastructure team supports all types of testing for all International owned ECU applications including: Electric Vehicle controls, Engine Controls, Body Feature and Chassis Controls, including advanced driver assistance and autonomous functionality (ADAS) as well as vehicle and system modeling. In this role, the engineer will be focused on developing and supporting multiple levels of test benches. This includes basic benches used for early development, diagnostics and communications, specialty built test rigs to validate vendor/supplier software, Hardware in the Loop (HIL) test benches that includes simulation of loads, sensors as well as vehicle and powertrain models for closed loop functional testing. He/She will also be involved in developing and supporting test framework, automation and scripting using python or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Perform in a team environment and collaborative atmosphere
• Utilize HIL toolsets to develop dynamic models of vehicle sub-systems for closed loop software testing
• Support Hardware in the Loop (HIL) industry standard software and hardware
• Support virtual vehicle-in-the-loop (ViL) eMobility propulsion and vehicle real-time testing and simulator platform
• Support development of eVehicle plant & controller models for multi-speed EV drive, HV battery, HV accessory loads, etc.
• Actively participate in internal and external peer reviews to foster continuous improvement of both the products and the development process

Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceAt least 5 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience

OR

Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceAt least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience

OR

PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science  Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. • Experience with coding (preferably Python) and electro-mechanical systems
• Basic understanding of low and high voltage vehicle systems (HV motors, batteries, LV charging, loads and actuator functions)
• Knowledge of SAE J1939 CAN protocol, HD-OBD and generic scan-tools a plus
• Some understanding of commercial vehicle features and functions related to eVehicle propulsion systems
