Kimley-Horn's Saint Paul, Minnesota (MN) office is seeking a Project Engineer with 7+ years of scheduling, estimating, and change order management experience to join our Transit team!

Responsibilities

The Project Engineer will work on Transit and other types of infrastructure projects throughout the Twin Cities metro area and be responsible for supporting the owner in the following tasks:

Negotiating and writing up detailed change ordersReviewing contractor’s cost (labor, equipment, and materials) and comparing it to the owner’s independent cost estimate (ICE)Aligning scope and quantities, developing cost analysis, and negotiating final costAccount for and document changes to scope elements, including track, pavement, curb and gutter, utilities/drainage, bridges, soil corrections, stations, and moreReview project contractual documents (i.e. specifications, plans/drawings) and develop detailed cost estimates on specific construction activities based on appropriate production rates and assumed construction approachReview & evaluate contractor submitted time impact analysis schedules for conformity and reasonablenessDevelop project construction schedules using critical path method scheduling Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred7 or more years of related experienceExperience with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera (P6) software and understanding of critical path method scheduling preferredSystems experience a plus but not requiredClose attention to detailTechnical writing skillsAbility to follow proceduresDemonstrated ability to manage projectsAbility to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization

Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000
