As a Project Engineer, you will collaborate with a team to prepare structural design and detail drawings for various projects, ensuring their completion. You will conduct field measurements at sites, which could range from houses to commercial buildings, and create accurate models using SDS2 for structural steel jobs or Catia V5 for unique architectural designs. Your role will include submitting drawings for approval, ensuring timely material delivery, traveling to job sites to provide technical advice, and gathering design information while adhering to company and OSHA standards.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare structural design and detail drawings for projects.
+ Conduct field measurements at various sites.
+ Create accurate models using SDS2 or Catia V5 software.
+ Submit drawings for approval and ensure timely delivery of materials.
+ Travel to job sites to provide technical advice and gather design information.
+ Apply company and OSHA standards to projects.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in construction, steel fabrication, and project management.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD design software.
+ Experience in steel/concrete engineering design work.
+ Basic understanding of steel fabrication processes and structural steel practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in SDS2 software (preferred, training provided if needed).
+ Experience in Catia software (preferred, training provided if needed).
+ Ability to read architectural drawings and interpret design intentions.
+ Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
+ Valid driver's license.
+ Willingness to travel to local job sites.
+ Self-motivated with the ability to meet time schedules.
Work Environment
The role requires working on-site five days a week. Training will be conducted in Holly, Michigan, at the second office. Upon completion of training, you will move to the Pontiac office to manage day-to-day operations and report back to the president. Occasional visits to job sites will be necessary to ensure performance adheres to all standards and specifications.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $60.10/hr.
