Job Description
The Project Engineer will be responsible for developing project work element plans and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). This role involves coordinating definable features of work with superintendents, foremen, craft workers, and subcontractors, using Computer Aided Drafting for analysis of lift equipment capabilities and work method sequencing. Additionally, the role includes critical path scheduling and three-week look-ahead scheduling, reviewing designs, drawings, and engineering data for conformance with project plans and specifications, and identifying associated conflicts.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate project activities with representatives and other stakeholders.Conduct investigation and research for permanent and consumable material items, equipment, and tools.Inspect newly delivered permanent materials for conformance with project requirements.Design falsework as needed.Monitor operations of subcontractors.Report on daily operations and quality control.Maintain project photographic records and provide general project support.Ensure compliance with Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.Promote an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment.Essential SkillsProficient in project management and construction management.Strong skills in RFI, mechanical change order, and engineering.Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and mechanical engineering.Experience in project coordination, commercial construction, project engineering, and civil engineering.Proficient in project scheduling and field service.Field engineering experience required.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management.Experience with HCSS & Primavera preferred.Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) completion and Engineer in Training (EIT) registration preferred.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Work Environment
The work environment involves 75% office work in Richmond and 25% at project sites. Employees are frequently exposed to adverse weather conditions, with moderate to loud noise levels. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed shoes. Physical demands include standing, walking, using stairs, ladders, and step stools, and reaching with hands and arms. Employees must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $48.07/hr.
