Job Title: Engineering Project Lead
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Lead responsible for designing and overseeing the engineering development process. This role involves leading a cross-functional engineering team in collaboration with the Chief Engineer and Project Manager to ensure that project technical resource needs are defined and met. The successful candidate will be accountable for the execution and implementation of engineering processes, managing resources, and ensuring project performance aligns with cost, schedule, and production commitments.
Responsibilities
Design and lead the engineering development effort in collaboration with the Chief Engineer and Project Manager.Ensure the technical resource needs of the program are defined and met, working with functional organizations to secure appropriate staffing.Lead engineering activities for a cross-functional team and manage resource needs.Execute program plans to meet cost, schedule, production, and performance commitments.Support technical leadership on product design, development, and improvement projects.Provide regular updates to the Program Management Office and leadership.Organize engineering work to support the project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and budget per the Project Management Plan (PMP).Manage the planning, execution, and tracking/reporting of all technical aspects of engineering development.Evaluate the integration of the engineering solution within the overall engineering environment.Lead the engineering product development process through major program milestone reviews.Support the development of interface control documents, software requirement specifications, performance specifications, and review test plans/procedures.Lead support for proposals/white papers and interface with customers.Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree, master's degree, or Ph.D. in engineering or a related technical discipline.Fifteen or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, thirteen or more years with a master's degree, or ten or more years with a Ph.D.Broad technical expertise in engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice.Significant experience in project management and leadership.Expertise in at least one engineering technical discipline such as power electronics, optical systems, or energy storage.Detailed knowledge of systems engineering processes, system requirements, and system architecture.Experience with system verification and validation processes.Additional Skills & Qualifications
An Engineering degree is preferred, though a Science degree may be accepted with appropriate experience.Experience with contractual documents and requirements management systems.Detailed working knowledge of PLM/Windchill is desired.Knowledge/experience with Requirements Management Systems for DOD systems is desired.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $180000.00 - $215000.00/yr.
