Project Engineer

We're seeking a highly Project Engineer to join our team in Addison, IL. As a Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for preparing and reviewing engineering data, performing engineering studies, and coordinating cross-functional activities to ensure the successful fulfillment of standard and custom pump orders.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare and review engineering data, including Bills of Materials, manufacturing process data, and general alignment to Flowserve standards and customer-requested specificationsPerform engineering studies and related calculations to ensure accurate and thorough engineering dataCoordinate with cross-functional teams, including internal and external departments, to establish schedules for order fulfillmentProvide logistical, technical, and operational support to the local site, customers, warranty, and sister sites globally with a focus on the Madrid, Brussels, Chesapeake, and Bangalore

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Engineering Technology)Knowledge of mechanical design principles including fluid flow, mechanics of material, drawing and machining practicesAbility to produce detailed production drawings and manufacturing instructions as required for customer components and "engineered-to-order" products, as assignedAnalytical capability to evaluate machinery form, fit, and function in areas such as strength and thermal loading, bolt, gasket, and bearing specification and approval, and recommendation with analysis of test data and instrumentation outputsAn understanding of machining and quality principles such as Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), measurement techniques, and various manual and CNC metal cutting processesProficiency with MS Office productsAbility to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervisionStrong self-motivation and drive to deliver high-quality results

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience with rotating equipment engineering, especially in the pump industry and related sectorsKnowledge and use of CAD software with emphasis on 3d model creation from 2D drawingsLean Certification or 2 years in Lean-related activities.

Strong verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail, ability to meet assigned due dates, advanced organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
