Job Description

Targeted Annual Pay Range: Minimum of $75,000.00 to a maximum of $85,000.00

POSITION PURPOSE: Survey, design, installation oversight, and commissioning of metering equipment and data gathering hardware.  Oversee contractor’s work at certain phases of the project.  Provides support to the contractor for build/assembly of scope of supply.   Conducts system commissioning/start-ups, operation & maintenance training, providing support for existing installations, and identify areas of improvement.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Commissioning and start-up of utility grade metering equipment.Engineer & design of new or modified advanced metering system equipped to meet customer objectives.Review project, equipment and proposed design plans to ensure it meets specifications.Conduct on-site survey / walkthrough with operating, contractors and engineering personnel.Conducts lab testing as needed for process troubleshooting or process optimization.Typically works on one or more projects for a length of time.Troubleshoot, inspect and re-build of existing equipment in the field.Composes documentation/procedures, internal memoranda and reports in a timely manner.Willing and able to travel 30%, including flights and hotel stays.Proficient in AutoCad / Visio drafting.Basic network understanding and troubleshooting. Understanding of MEP drawings (Ie.. electrical, mechanical and plumbing drawings).

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background

BS (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field strongly preferredThorough understanding of electric circuits and making decisions based on diagrams is a requirementExperience using AutoCAD or Visio to create or modify design documentsImplementation and support experience with control systems and/or DCS systems is requiredPLC and logic programming, configuration, and support experience is requiredThorough understanding of network communications and OT cybersecurity concepts is requiredThorough understanding of control panel design and wiring and plant instrumentation is preferredExperience with databases and SQL queries, PC/server configuration, thin client systems, and/or VMware is a plusExperience in the Energy industries is a plusExperience working in an integrated IT/OT environment with frequent collaboration with IT personnel is a plus.

Ability to work independently on multiple tasks/projects and prioritize work effectively to meet project deadlinesStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenMust possess a high degree of professionalismAble to operate within a team atmosphere and interface effectively with a diverse set of groups and stakeholders. Willingness to keep skills up-to-date and to acquire new skills to improve our support for the business.
