Project Engineer
Position Overview International’s Central Systems and Architecture team develops system level requirements for International’s vehicle functions, as well as defines vehicle network, functional and communications architecture constructs. The Project Engineer, Architecture, will be responsible for assisting in the definition of the EE Architecture including, but not limited to, functional allocation, messaging definition and module I/O allocation. This position will be located at International’s design center in Lisle, Illinois. Occasional support may also be required at International’s test and production facilities, as well as occasional onsite support at suppliers and customers. Responsibilities Management of communications definition and functional allocation for a given architecture Development and documentation of CAN messaging constructs Management of device I/O for a given architecture Problem solving and implementing solutions to hardware and control software issues Work in a team and contribute to the continuous improvement activities through participation in Lean projects, technical knowledge capture, process improvements etc. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 5 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience OR Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience OR PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Experience in architectural functional areas, such as Functional Safety (ISO26262), Vehicle Communications and Network, Cybersecurity CAN and SAE J1939 development and debugging experience (LIN and/or Automotive Ethernet a plus) Vector CANalyzer/CANoe, MS Visio experience Experience with requirement documentation and system engineering Embedded hardware design and development experience Experience with Vehicle, Powertrain or Engine Controls System design Experience with engineering and quality design and development methodologies: (8D, FMEA, DVP&R) Company Overview At International Motors, LLC* (“International”), we’ve never backed away from forging our own path.
