Navistar’s Central Systems and Architecture team develops system level requirements for Navistar’s vehicle functions, as well as defines vehicle network, functional and communications architecture constructs. The Project Engineer, Architecture, will be responsible for assisting in the definition of the EE Architecture including, but not limited to, functional allocation, messaging definition and module I/O allocation.

 

This position will be located at Navistar’s design center in Lisle, Illinois. Occasional support may also be required at Navistar’s test and production facilities, as well as occasional onsite support at suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities Management of communications definition and functional allocation for a given architectureDevelopment and documentation of CAN messaging constructsManagement of device I/O for a given architectureProblem solving and implementing solutions to hardware and control software issuesWork in a team and contribute to the continuous improvement activities through participation in Lean projects, technical knowledge capture, process improvements etc. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceAt least 5 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience

OR

Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceAt least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience

OR

PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science  Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
