We are currently seeking a Project Engineer for a Pump Station Project with an immediate start. The Project Engineer will report to the Project Manager and will use Procore for all reporting and project administration. This role involves managing submittals, requests for information, daily reports, and coordination between subcontractors. The Project Engineer will also support the Project Manager and periodically update job progress reports, submittal logs, and 4-week look-ahead schedules. Additionally, the Project Engineer will be responsible for quality assurance and site safety. The initial project involves repairing a collapsed shorting system in a canal and is expected to last 4 months, with the possibility of transitioning to other projects or a long-term career opportunity.
ResponsibilitiesManage submittals, requests for information, and daily reports.Coordinate between subcontractors and support the Project Manager.Update job progress reports, submittal logs, and 4-week look-ahead schedules.Assist with Project Management responsibilities in the absence of the Project Manager.Ensure quality assurance and maintain site safety standards.Essential Skills3 years of construction field experience, preferably with sheet pile, bracing, and support of excavation.Experience with Procore or similar construction software.Knowledge of project management and construction management principles.Proficiency in handling RFIs, change orders, and project coordination.OSHA 10 certification is required.Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsOSHA 30 certification is preferred.Experience with driving piles, foundation work, highway/roadway, or heavy construction is also considered.Spanish-speaking is a plus.Work Environment
The work environment includes working out of a vehicle, a container, or under a tent as there is no office trailer available. The job requires being at the work area by 7am, with a 20-25 minute commute from the entrance. There may be some overtime hours and the possibility of working every other Saturday.
