Terracon’s Twin Cities operations is seeking an environmental professional to join our team as a Project Engineer! If you’re eager to learn and grow in the exciting world of environmental consulting this position is for you.
You will join a strong group of engineers and environmental professionals that make up a center of excellence for regulatory compliance services within Terracon.
This position will have a primary focus as a project manager for a variety of regulatory compliance projects. As project manager, you will be responsible for managing clients and projects from the proposal phase through successful project completion. This includes opportunities to become team members with an interesting array of industrial clients and being part of the team that provides ongoing consulting services at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Primary tasks include projects involving:Air emissions calculations, permit application development, and evaluation of control technologiesIndustrial wastewater treatment system evaluation, permitting, sampling, and reportingHazardous waste consultingSPCC Plan and SWPPP PreparationSARA Title III reportingRemediation system designStormwater permitting and complianceThis position will work with and oversee other staff members to prepare engineering calculations, complete reports, conduct field work, and perform site evaluations. Terracon also includes geotechnical, materials testing, and facilities services. This position may provide opportunities to cross train and learn skills in these exciting fields.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:Following safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projectsAssisting in performing site visits, site observations, and data collectionField work including environmental sampling and testingPreparation of compliance reports and permit applications for clientsReview of federal, state, and local regulationsReview of issued permits to determine required compliance actionsPreparation of air emission calculations and permit applicationsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, chemical engineering preferred 5 to 7 years of experience in the environmental consulting industryExperience managing environmental regulatory compliance projectsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applicationsPreferred Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft ExcelWorking knowledge of AutoCAD preferredProfessional engineer (PE) licenseValid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.Additional DetailsHybrid schedule with ability to work from the office or remotely with core office days specifiedLocation: Plymouth, MN About Terracon
