Project Engineer
As a Project Engineer, you will oversee project development and ensure compliance to contract requirements to meet customers objectives. You will manage the engineering activities following a comprehensive design and development control program up to verification and validation and in compliance with the customer statement of work. Activities among others will including planning for all engineering disciplines and designers, scheduling, design reviews, development of test plan and procedures, delivery of technical data or documentation to the customer, risk mitigation, design to cost, budget, etc.
You will be responsible for the production of complex designs while paying high attention to details, using drawing standards (military or commercial), geometric dimensioning and tolerances and solid modelling as applied to mechanical and hydraulic machinery in a naval or airborne equipment environment

Your Challenge:
Ensure all work is performed according to the Quality Management System (QMS).
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
Design and maintain electronic systems for military naval systems.
Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs.
Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
Study processes to determine where and how application of equipment can be made.
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
Assist in developing the structural design of products, and provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs.
Design test control apparatus and equipment and develop procedures for testing products.
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering, construction, or extraction projects, and prepare contract documents.
May establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and supply of materials required to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.

No direct reports, but may provide technical and project leadership to other engineering specialists.
What You Bring:
Mechanical Engineer with bachelor's degree with more than 10 years of hands-on experience, minimum 5 as a project engineer
Experience with naval or airborne machinery including winches, management of large projects, as well as government and international customers relations would be an asset.
Experience with drawing standards (military or commercial) and Creo modeling program.
Experience in designing hydraulic and electrically driven machinery ideally for shipboard, airborne and submarine environments.
Provide engineering decisions to mechanical designer assigned to you to detail the design in CREO under your supervision.
To support your designs you would perform force and motion calculations, and make decisions as to the most efficient design to meet cost, weight and manufacturability budgets. Sizing and selection of components such as gear boxes, motors, actuators, cylinders etc. will be required.
Willingness to travel, when commissioning first-off systems overseas as well as supporting marketing efforts.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science.
PEO “Professional Engineer” designation.
