Description

Copeland has an open position for an engineering professional in Sidney, OH. Join the CO2 Scroll compression engineering team and take part in new product development and support for internal and external partners.

You will lead engineering project management initiatives to evaluate, mature, and develop new design technologies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance reliability, adding incremental value to customer applications. Coordinating with different teams, providing regular updates to leadership, and interacting with customers and suppliers are essential aspects of this role.

Seeking a motivated professional who excels in both collaborative and independent environments, pays close attention to detail, has strong interpersonal skills, and is driven to achieve project objectives.

AS A PROJECT ENGINEER, YOU WILL:

Develop new compression products while owning schedules and test plans to ensure that the design meets customer needs and technical specifications

Guide global development teams through Technology development by showcasing innovative thinking, critical analysis, and an inquisitive demeanor

Resolve and provide vital support to engineering labs, manufacturing facilities, supplier quality and procurement when necessary

Support internal/external customers and global multi-functional colleagues by communicating technical and project achievements & updates

Develop expertise in existing calculators and engineering tools as well as facilitate the creation of new design and analysis tools as needed/appropriate

Apply a high degree of independent engineering knowledge to lead multi-functional efforts in technical development and problem-solving

Devise and implement development and testing plans with a focus on risk management and work collaboratively with the appropriate resources to ensure accurate completion

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering (Co-op experience is a plus)

Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Proficiency in various computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and engineering analysis tools

Strong project management and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Legal authorization to work in the United States unrestricted for an unlimited period of time. Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Two (2) years of relevant work experience in the development of electrically driven rotating equipment or similar fields

Experience with GT Suite, Power BI, Minitab

Ability to connect with technical, manufacturing, and business leaders at all levels

Strong Thermodynamics, vapor compression cycle & heat transfer knowledge/experience

About our Location 

The newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for the air conditioning and cold chain businesses. Through our 30 years of scroll compressor expertise, our air conditioning related products help bring comfort and convenience in commercial, industrial and residential spaces. The cold chain business helps ensure that food safely and efficiently travels from farm to fork. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions. With the blend of businesses and functions represented under this one roof, there are many opportunities for advancement within the Sidney location.
