Project Engineer

Why this role?

As a Project Engineer at KONE, you will be instrumental in leading and managing installation projects from sales handover to completion and maintenance. You will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of KONE solutions, maintaining high-quality standards and meeting project timelines within budget. This role will position you as the primary point of contact for customers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, while also supporting the sales team during pre-tender and tender activities when needed.

What will you be doing?

Taking accountability for the successful delivery of installation projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget requirements.

Prioritizing and maintaining site safety by following all relevant safety protocols.

Efficiently managing environmental aspects of the installation, including waste handling, hazardous materials, and minimizing travel.

Assuming responsibility for the project's financial outcomes, considering factory prices and exchange rate variables.

Participating in the sales/installation handover process and validating customer orders in collaboration with the salesperson.

Developing the overall installation program and resource planning.

Planning and organizing the delivery and storage of materials and tools to the site while coordinating orders with subcontractors and non-KONE factory material suppliers.

Overseeing site preparations and ensuring site readiness.

Ensuring adherence to KONE installation methods throughout the project.

Implementing cost control measures according to action plans during the budgeting process, aiming to achieve pre-calculated CM2% targets.

Managing administrative activities related to the project, including human resource management, timesheet reviews, and progress reporting to superiors.

Maintaining project documentation and updating information in company management systems, such as S-plan milestone updates.

Collaborating with Accounts Payable/Controlling to ensure site activities align with contractual payment terms and actual payments received.

Being accountable for the final testing of equipment and its handover to maintenance.

Customer and Sub-contractor Relationship Management:

Ensuring customer satisfaction and the quality of installations, taking responsibility for project success.

Monitoring subcontractor quality and safety performance to uphold high standards.

Acting as the primary point of contact for customers during installation, managing internal and external communications throughout the project.

Striving to achieve allocated sales targets and identifying opportunities for add-on sales and variations during installations.

Developing and maintaining positive, professional relationships with subcontractors.

People Management / Leadership:

Taking responsibility for the development and well-being of site operatives while managing their performance.

Setting objectives, planning, organizing, communicating, controlling, and motivating the installation team.

Identifying training needs for field operatives and managing training plans to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Support other team members to deliver the department goals

Are you the one?

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Proven experience in project management, site supervision, or related roles.

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Familiarity with project management tools and software.

Understanding of safety and environmental regulations in the industry.

Commitment to achieving high-quality project outcomes while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.
