The role will work on site investigations, analyze soil, and rock properties and provide recommendations of construction projects based on their findings. **Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Conducting geotechnical site investigations including soil and rock sampling, borehole logging and field testing and present their findings to interdisciplinary teams + Evaluating and analyzing geological and geotechnical conditions to assess risks and opportunities for construction projects + Managing geotechnical aspects of projects, such as project execution, timelines, and milestones including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation + Coordinating with clients, contractors and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements, objectives, and constraints are met + Communicating project status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders effectively + Conducting feasibility studies, risk assessments and implement quality assurance processes to identify potential challenges, develop mitigation strategies and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations + Coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure materials and services + Preparing technical reports and documentation detailing analysis, findings, and recommendations + Fostering positive relationships with clients and stakeholders to enhance satisfaction and promote future collaborations + Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards + Staying updated on industry trends, technologies, and innovations to enhance project delivery and efficiency + Coordinating and cooperate with lab and field departments + Preparing cost estimates, proposals, and invoices + Other duties may be assigned **Required Qualifications:** + Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria) + Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification) + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering + Holds active Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification; with intention to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure. + 2+ years of experience in Construction Material Testing (CMT) or a related field + Strong understanding of ASTM, AASHTO, and other CMT standards and protocols + Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills + Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software; experience with GIS or similar environmental tools is a plus + Ability to travel within Florida to attend site visits, client meetings, business development events, and other meetings + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or clients. + Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop and cell phone, including sending and receiving emails, prepare and present PowerPoint Presentations, and learn Deltek Vision, SAP Concur, and various building department software(s). Advanced computer skills that require an in-depth understanding of various engineering software. + Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. + Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Demonstrated knowledge of consulting principles + Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics and foundation design + Experience with geotechnical fieldwork, including soil testing, drilling and instrumentation + Excellent project management, communication and problem solving skills + Strong communication skills, both verbal and written + Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices **Physical Demands & Work Environment :** + Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear. Body motions and movements include: bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, pulling, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing.
