THE WORK
The Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating planning, financial performance, and reporting of Independent Research and Development (IRAD) projects, functional projects, and the RMS 1LMX Intelligent Factory Framework (IFF) within the Mission Systems Production Operations (MSPO) organization in Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS). The AMT organization develops and integrates innovative manufacturing technologies into MSPO products and factories, working collaboratively across multiple lines of business, functional support teams, and business areas.
This position will foster technical and financial collaboration between AMT, Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology (E&T), Finance, RMS 1LMX, and Corporate Operations Transformation. The role includes ensuring alignment of MSPO investments with strategic goals to optimize the One RMS factory and shape the factory of the future for expansion and growth. This individual will develop positive and effective relationships with technical counterparts within and outside MSPO and manage the business rhythm and communication strategy to promote awareness of development initiatives and execution status.
This person will track and manage IRAD and functional project financials, ensure projects comply with requirements, and optimize reporting methods for key stakeholders. In addition to their primary responsibilities, this person will provide support for the IFF project by coordinating and executing project plans at multiple MSPO locations. The Project Engineer will facilitate communication between the AMT team and the RMS 1LMX and MSPO leadership teams, including tracking and reporting on 1LMX-related projects.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
• Minimum of two years’ experience performing project management tasks in support of a technical project or program with a budget > $500k
Desired Skills:
• Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects including cost/budgeting, schedule, risk evaluation/mitigation, and project execution, especially on IRAD or functional projects
• Experience in project management, systems engineering, and hardware-software integration
• Technical background in software engineering or electronics engineering, including integration, test, and troubleshooting
• Experience in a technical manufacturing role
• Experience working independently and identifying and implementing process improvements
• Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills including the ability to listen and influence at all levels of the organization
• Experience developing effective stakeholder and partner relationships, especially across functions and virtually
• Experience leading virtual and/or geographically dispersed teams

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 - $157,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
