Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager who will assist the Project Managers with the administrative tasks surrounding the design phase, pre-construction, and construction phase project management. This includes managing scope, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, out-to-bid process, and assisting with overseeing the work of the design team.
ResponsibilitiesWork directly with the Project Management team to help manage and estimate construction projects.Complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.Review drawings for correctness.Assemble miscellaneous details necessary to prepare job bid proposals.Develop relationships with subcontractors and interact with them to secure necessary information for job bids.Support the Project Manager in collecting the necessary information to complete the monthly Work in Progress (WIP) report.Assist with projecting and adherence to job budget and timing of tasks.Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and surfacing issues to be resolved.Interface with subcontractors as necessary to meet the schedule.Control project costs by recommending expenditures and administering contractor contracts.Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.Travel to job site locations when necessary to review progress and provide solutions to challenges.Assist in project timeline maintenance and ensure a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.Maintain project database by updating construction systems.Be available to support the Project Manager in answering any customer inquiries.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Responsible for project financials, administration, implementation, management, and customer satisfaction for all assigned projects.Manage the implementation and management of HVAC equipment projects and be accountable for the assigned projects' scope of work, schedule, etc.Manage a portfolio of projects that could contain both smaller and larger multi-building or complex construction projects.Manage project scope, cost, and schedule by reviewing contract documents, holding internal meetings, and establishing customer expectations.Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.Compare estimated ship dates with contractor’s project schedule and ensure compliance with internal equipment ordering processes.Maintain the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion and control expenses by monitoring the assigned project budget.Essential SkillsProject managementConstruction managementCommercial constructionHVACMechanical engineeringProject engineeringEstimationProject schedulingAdditional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Construction Management or EngineeringMechanical Construction ExperienceExperience with Project Schedules / PM Construction SoftwareStrong, demonstrated customer service and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skillsProactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a teamAbility to meet tight deadlines within a high-paced environment with attention to detailWork Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $48.08/hr.
