Location:                                           Leamington Spa Office (with eligibility for flexible hybrid remote working - generally 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home flexed days)

What You Will Do

As a Project Engineer in the Consulting team in Leamington Spa, you will work in a team to help our customers develop new products using your engineering expertise facilitated by Altair’s CAE and optimisation technology.  You will be involved in delivering projects from early in the concept development phase all the way through to production ready design.

You will be working with customers in a range of industry sectors, including automotive, aerospace, FMCG, energy and defence.  You will be trained and build experience with the very latest CAE technology and apply these skills to help customers make better products.

·        Prepare simulation models, perform calculations, post-process (interpret and prepare) results and make decisions to influence design-direction.

·        Ability to work with the team to plan tasks on a project to ensure cost and timing requirements are met.

What You Will Need

Qualifications

·        Essential: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

·        Desirable: Masters or PhD.

·        Full UK Driving license.

·        Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Experience

·        Experience gained in an OEM or consulting environment for a minimum of 1-2 years +.

·        You will have some experience of CAE either from academic background and industrial experience.

·        Enthusiasm and strong communication and presentation skills.

·        You must be able to demonstrate an interest in computer aided engineering.

·        Ability to build relationships (both internally at Altair and externally with customers).

·        Team player, customer oriented and delivery focused.

·        Planning of technical projects.

·        Project management and capable of delivering on time and budget.

Preferred Experience

·        Experience with Altair software: OptiStruct, Radioss, HyperMesh, Inspire or similar.

·        Experience or interest in the application of optimisation technology.
