The Advanced Manufacturing team is leading the strategic evolution of James Hardie Manufacturing with regards to Operator Engagement, Process Capability, and Throughput. Our long-term vision includes implementing a Manufacturing Execution System, establishing Control Room environments, and developing capability around Machine Learning & AI tools. The roadmap for this vision contains many projects that must be executed at a superior level.
The Project Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing will be an integral part of this team and will report to the Engineering Manager, Advanced Manufacturing – Manufacturing Systems. This role will ensure value is delivered by serving as business lead through the lifecycle of these projects.
What You’ll Do:
Project Identification, Prioritization, Approval (40%)
Contribute to the establishment of an overall Manufacturing Technology vision and roadmap Divide the roadmap into a logical sequence of projects that each deliver value Identify key stakeholders for each project Participate in gembas, internal and external, to learn best practices and establish future state vision Research and communicate business requirements for projects Work with IT, Procurement, Vendors, and others to coordinate estimates for project work Present to senior leadership to gain project approval
Project Execution (60%)
Actively participate in regular project meetings to answer scope/business questions as they arise Partner with PMO Project Manager to ensure project scope stays on track Escalate questions around scope to gain alignment with business stakeholders Select appropriate testers for each phase of the project, including end-users Write or review/approve test scenarios and test scripts to ensure they are testing not just the technical components of the project, but also the business value Coordinate testing with the sites to minimize distraction to BAU while providing proof of project viability Partner with regional HMOS/CIMS teams to develop good plans for management of change and training

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $87,500K to $109,400K. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits and you will be eligible to participate in a bonus plan.
