Project Engineer - Automation

Job Overview:

The Automation Project Engineer will be an important link between field services and project office. He will support the RTU field activities in the absence of the field engineer and at the same time support engineering-documentation-project tasks in the office.

Responsibilities: 

Prepare offshore operations procedures at the request of Supervisor and/or Project Manager. Prepare task plans prior to and during offshore operation based on the installation Procedures provided by the project team. Provide technical guidance and support to clients and on-site personnel, answering questions and addressing concerns. Assist in the planning of offshore mobilization / demobilization of project personnel and equipment. Participate in project meetings and toolbox talks. Implement and organize any approved modifications to the Project, ensuring all changes are fully documented as per project procedures. Develop RTU design, project documentation as per customer requirements. Conduct all activities within the Weatherford policies, procedures, and TWI (Technical Work Instructions). Responsible for preparing & testing the programing for RTU and other equipment. Maintain & record any NCR’s, lessons learnt for field activities, projects. 

Skills:

Background in Oil & Gas is essential. Experience in RTUs, PLCs, SCADA – configuration, and troubleshooting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in interacting with customer or other stake holders and understanding their requirements. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Knowledge in communication protocols – MODBUS, Serial communication, DNP3 etc. Willingness for site travel as needed – onshore & offshore. AutoCAD (Basic) MS Project (Basic) Experience with Fiber Optic communication, radio communication, HMI programing.

 Qualifications:

Engineering Degree in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation. Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in a similar role.
