Come join our Transportation Bridge Team and work alongside others who share your passion to support communities through exciting and unique bridge projects. **Your Opportunity** Stantec’s Lexington, KY office is looking for a Project Engineer/Bridge Inspector to perform bridge inspections, write and/or assist with writing of inspection reports, assist with rehabilitation projects, and assist with load rating projects. The candidate will go to various sites and projects throughout Kentucky and the United States to provide hands-on structural inspections of bridges and other transportation related structures. Office duties will include load rating calculations and developing rehabilitation designs and plans. **Your Key Responsibilities** * Perform bridge inspection, rehabilitation, and load rating tasks on assigned bridge projects * Calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software * Assist other offices with bridge inspection, rehabilitation, and load rating tasks * Create and interpret sketches, and drawings for bridges as well as other structures and assist in writing post inspection reports **Qualifications** **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions + General knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation and any other relevant design software + Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite + Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues and solutions to others + Available to travel in/out of Kentucky periodically (15-25%) + Ability to climb ladders and work at heights **Education and Experience** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Master’s degree a plus. Minimum one of year bridge inspection experience. Successful completion of FHWA-NHI (National Highway Institute) Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridge training a plus. Experience with rope access/climbing inspection methods a plus.
