We’re seeking a collaborative Project Engineer to join our team in Costa Mesa, CA. Someone who can use their experience in the industry and apply it to today’s challenges.
As a Project Engineer on our team, you’re not just building structures, you’re helping our clients innovate and grow by executing the construction of their various facilities that are shaping our world.
You will be working out of the client’s site/office in Costa Mesa, CA, reporting directly to the Project Manager and working alongside other Project and Construction Managers. You’ll have an opportunity to work on an active project, coordinating the progression of trades and design-build field staff. You will participate in Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings and follow the project from commencement of construction to occupancy by end users. Based at a client site, you will oversee that all work completed by contractors and consultants, verifying the highest quality, with safety being our highest priority. You will also provide support to the Project Manager by developing and maintaining project related documentation including RFI’s and submittals, project cost/change controls, project budget, and change order estimates/negotiations. Working together, we’ll help you grow and pursue what fulfills you so that we can make impacts on the future - big and small, global and local. As one of the onsite Owners Representatives, you’ll be responsible for ensuring not only the progress and technical performance of a project, but also:
• Liaison with IORs, Special Inspectors and other Authority’s Having Jurisdiction (including DSA, OSFM) in collaboration with the Contractor
• Review and assist with the development of Project Delivery Plans, including QA/QC Plans, Safety Plans, Logistics Plans, etc.
• Maintain project documentation related logs, including RFI’s, RFC’s, Submittals, ASI’s, etc.
• Assist in the assembly of Daily Reports and daily field documentation
• Assist with Schedule Updates, Reviews and Management
• Assist with Proposed Change Order submissions and Change Order review
• Assist with Safety and Environmental Health issues
• Assist with Field Review of QA & QC of work in place

* Bachelor of Science in a Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience in lieu of education
* 4+ years of related construction project management experience public, civic, or other similarly complex construction building projects
* Good working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
* Experience with projects delivered by the State of California - Department of General Services
* Projects that involved Essential Services or similar requirements.
* Construction Manager in Training (CMIT), CM-Lean, DBIA Associate, Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
