Job Description

The Project Engineer Controls and Automation Process is a unique position that identifies, develops and supports cost-effective engineering standards and guidelines that will be used for designing, configuring, programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI automation system installations, globally across all Rockwell Automation manufacturing plants. You will work out of our facility in Twinsburg, OH.

Your Responsibilities:Review and modify, the controls and automation standards to ensure programming styles and structures across all plantsEstablish, partner and maintain business relationships with external suppliers to support, develop, and qualify equipment for global operations' facilitiesTrain other departments (Industrialization, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and Business Units) on standard programming processes that are developed for Rockwell Automation and, where applicable, promote re-use of code and processesResearch and develop new programming, communication and hardware technologies for applicability and cost-saving potentialWork with IT and OT/MES functions to develop processes and equipment to support Rockwell Automation's Connected Enterprise journeySupport line downtime as Tier 2 internal support, and support commissioning of new equipment code review and testingWork in lab environments to test new processes and work with design and industrialization teams to identify technologies and processes to meet the needs of new product designsManage projects of varying size and scope simultaneously that help improve our digital transformation

The Essentials - You Will Have:Bachelors DegreeLegal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.The ability to travel 15% of the time.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Automation EngineeringMinimum of 10 years of experience with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming of manufacturing processes using automated equipmentTechnical experience with multiple technologies (PLC's and HMI's, conveyance, motors, robots, vision, sensors, network switches, etc.)Software application experience with Rockwell and supporting software (Factory Talk Production Centre, Studio 5000, RSLinx, AssetCentre)Programming experience with an awareness or understanding of various languages (Python, Java, XML, JSON, C#)Experience working with 3rd party vendors, integrators and OEMs regarding equipment procurementExperience writing technical documents and trainingDemonstrated leadership and Project Management skillsExperience in developing, documenting and training on technical processesMechanical aptitude
