The Project Engineer provides project management and design research support for project development, budget, and schedule of projects ranging from $100,000 to $3 million. Assists the Project Manager in managing multiple projects in various states of development, including contract specifications, quality assurance and reporting. Supports system objectives that cares for the whole patient; mind, body and spirit. Provides input into the design and execution of projects that address the safety of patients, staff, visitors, and construction workers in keeping with IU Health's mission of promoting community wellness.
Performs tasks including but not limited to: Assist in estimating, value engineering, and developing of comprehensive project budgets. Manage and Implement cost controls and cashflows. Reconcile pay applications and billings to align with project progress. Support and coordinate comprehensive schedule activities. Facilitating service and vendor procurement process(es) through effective use of all technology tools including administering and coordinating from the initial bidprocess to project closeout. Document Control: Maintain, prepare, and verify contract drawings, shop drawings, submittals, project database(s), reports, quality control activities & documents. Manage the submission of record drawings, maintenance manuals, and warranties for closeout. Manage project costs through the ongoing evaluation of labor, material, and equipment; continue to forecast and analyze construction costs, through project
completion. Participate in the coordination of RFIs, change notices, and vendor materials. Manage owner-furnished specification, procurement, delivery & storage. Coordinate and resolve engineering and construction problems, schedule & attend meetings, prepare and distribute minutes Implement cost controls and the reconciliation of billings. Communication liaison between the office, field, and entire project team. Coordinate change management process. Utilize software programs and templates to

• Bachelors Degree in construction management, an engineering discipline, architecture or other related field is required. Certificate in Healthcare preferred.
• Entry level position meeting education requirements to 3 years of relevant healthcare project experience required.
• Requires knowledge of project or construction management, business terms and contracting methodologies, basic finance or project cost control techniques.
• Requires application of regulations, such as the NFPA Life Safety Code, ISDH Regulations including the AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities, LEED, International Building Code and Americans with Disability Act.
