Project Engineer / Estimator

Role Summary:
As a Project Engineer, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop repair and upgrade scopes and customer-specific solutions. You’ll also coordinate the daily local order fulfillment activities on assigned projects. Additional responsibilities include quotation support, routine engineering analysis, detailed layout/mechanical design and operations support.

The position reports to the Regional Customer Service Manager and will be located on-site at the Leduc, AB facility.

Travel required: Less than 10%.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for technical quote creation & execution of multiple jobs pertaining to various customersCoordinate with Engineering team and obtain drawing approvals from the customerSupport production by providing tactical advice and guidance on specification deviations and other activities where requiredConduct production planning meeting to communicate the product requirement, specifications, timeline etc. to all applicable departments including Engineering, product management, production, quality, procurement etc.Review complete technical documentation package to validate product performance against customer requirements and suggest modifications as needed Prepare test plans and evaluate test resultsOptimize and standardize new and existing product linesCollaborate with the internal departments to ensure that the product is delivered to the customer on time as per the agreed terms & conditionsOther duties as assigned

Requirements:

BS or BA Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or more than 5 years of experience as a Millwright or related role with rotating equipment in lieu of a degree.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor)Understanding of engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is requiredEffective verbal and written communications is requiredAble to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and business groups within the larger company structureCollaborative team player and self-starter capable of working under minimal supervision after the training period is a requirement


Preferred Experience / Skills:

Industrial experience in welding, machine shop activities would be a benefit.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement processes are a plus
