ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Supports the new wastewater and water customer acquisition process by analyzing and finding solutions to new service connection requirements. Supports the transition of new acquisitions into the Aqua Capital plan.
Reviews proposed utility plans submitted by 3rd parties and ensures proposed water and wastewater assets are specified per Aqua engineering standards.Works with Aqua Engineering planning teams to ensure new growth throughout Aqua’s territories is evaluated wholistically for short- and long-term capacity requirementsPrepares regulatory reports including, but not limited, to PADEP Chapter 94 Municipal Wasteload Management Reports and Act 537 Planning modules and studies. Supervises and/or prepares permit applications for assigned projects.Assists in the preparation of cost estimates for capital budget planning.Utilizes the company’s financial Information System and capital budget system for project authorization and project tracking.Prepares planning studies and reports to guide management in future system needs and improvements.Articulates technical problems, design issues and potential solutions well and in layman’s terms to business, engineering, and operating teams as well as external organizations and customers.Negotiates easements and supervises preparation of descriptions.Assists with other tasks or projects as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a concentration in water/wastewater preferredMust have or obtain an Engineer in Training certificate within two years of employmentA minimum of 3 years related experience, preferably in water and wastewaterValid U.S Driver’s licenseKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent written and verbal communications skillsStrong interpersonal skills, (tact, diplomacy, persuasion, cooperation, and the ability to motivate others.Highly proficient with Microsoft office applications, in particular, Excel Word, and PowerPointAbility to work well under pressure and to effectively coordinate and keep track of multiple projectsAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environmentA team player able to work effectively in a team fostered multi-tasking environmentFamiliarity with PA Department of Environmental Protection regulations and permitting process
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Perform sedentary work- exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
