Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) is a leading refiner and recycler of precious group metals. The growing demand for low carbon and responsibly sourced products is creating growth opportunities in critical metals recycling and secondary refining, and as the world’s largest precious metals recycler, PGMS is a key player in the circular economy.
The Project Engineer, reporting to the Project Engineering Lead, supports the execution for a number of projects. The incumbent support in the project development and manage the execution through to plant handover and commissioning. The successful job holder will contribute to delivering key projects within PGMS. The holder will be responsible to support construction-based site activities, including working with different stakeholders on overall site program and site safety.
Your Responsibilities:
Management of projects from design to commissioning with robust management of change. Support in ensuring safe and timely implementation of these projects, to budget and delivered to full scope requirements inline with local and international legislation.Project Management/Project Engineering on capital projects across the programme, defining scope, costs, organisation and objectives, and stakeholder management.Monitoring and reporting spend and engineering progress against project budget and schedule for assigned engineering projects.Identification and reporting of risks/issues which may affect schedule, budget or quality.Preparing and delivering compelling and robust reports/presentations to various levels of management.Implementation of project management tools & techniques to ensure continuous improvement is achieved within the Operational Excellence team.Analysis of Key Performance Indicators across the Capital projects portfolio.Monitoring and reporting spend against project budget for assigned engineering projects.Development and delivery of Capital Expenditure requests. Ensuring alternative vendors and technologies have been duly considered.Manage & control interfaces with vendors and (internal) project contractors.Identification and reporting of risks/issues which may affect schedule, budget or quality.Leading root cause analyses and strive to achieve world class plant safety and OEE.Designing and delivering multiple process development programmes at pilot-scale, in close collaboration with the Scale Up and Step Out team, to build process knowledge and inform large scale processes.Developing process simulation models to optimise process conditions and predict plant performance at different operating conditions.Continually improving operating procedures including frequent communication and training of process technicians to standardise and enhance plant operations.Preparing and delivering compelling and robust reports/presentations to various levels of management.Use of JM gated process, and further development and safe implementation of an integrated Construction and Commissioning Plans, including separate readiness reviews for end of design, start of construction, start of commissioning and handover.Requirements for the role:
Degree-qualified in and engineering subject and experience on highly hazardous projectsAt least 2-5 years’ experience in framing and managing simple to less-complex contracts involving multiple suppliers and engineering, procurement and construction service contracts.1-2 years’ experience with accountability for safety critical activities such as Highly Hazardous projects in engineering, construction and or commissioning.Demonstrated experience in delivering a simple to less-complex, small to medium projects in a complex, multi-stakeholder brownfield site with continuously operated process facilities.Demonstrated experience in working with Business and or Operations and Maintenance staff to ensure Business / operational requirements are defined and met within the available project budgetExperience in managing change within a project context, ensuring appropriate technical reviews to preserve process safety at all timesDemonstrated ability to define and manage project progress reporting, interpret project controls data and make timely interventions when required.Demonstrated experience and ability to manage timely and accurate information and report to Project Director/Program Manager for the purpose of Program accounting and timely decision making with stakeholder engagement.Experience in managing multiple small projects £<1m across multiple sites or one large project (£> 2.5m ) for the final operation of the overall program scope.Experience in managing multiple 3rd party suppliers, and or EPC companies with appropriate reporting under an agreed form of contract, or be-spoke arrangements.Chartered Engineer and or Professional qualifications in project management (e.g. from APM, Prince2 or PMI)How you will be rewarded:
