Project Engineer - Project Services

Confluence Water, the Ventia, Downer and Jacobs joint venture, is one of three consortia delivering services under Sydney Water’s Partnering for Success program. Confluence Water delivers design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services in Sydney Water’s North region, which stretches from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River and includes the Hills Shire. 


We currently have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our first class Maintenance Team, focused on Sydney Water Assets. For this position, we are seeking a Mech or Elec PE who will be part of Project Services, looking at Mech / Elec Renewals, Scoping, Pricing, Forcasting, Stakeholder Management and Subcontractor Management.  Based at the Sydney Water Pymble Depot and working across the North Region, the successful candidate will have a Tool of Trade Vehicle. eTag and Fuel Card. The focus of this role will be on the maintenance of Minor Works of the Sydney Water assets.


ABOUT THE ROLE

Manage the delivery of the Project Services projects as defined by the project scope. Manage, control, report and forecast on all elements of the Project Services works inclusive of safety, quality, schedule, costs, compensation events against approved budgets. Maintain quality documentation. Report on billing and scheduling against budget and forecast. Seek out, identify, and clarify uncontrolled change to schedule and cost across their allocated area. Ensure actions are developed and pursued by the responsible stakeholders to control these changes. Primary interface person with the Sydney Water Hub. Communicate effectively with the Project Services Project Manager and key stakeholders for Project Services works. Creating Job Plans for both MPM and Project Services works with accurate forecasts for consistency and compliance. Ensure appropriate reviews and approval to submit workflows are completed prior to onsite commence work or procurement of goods. Be the first point of escalation, for discreet Project Services job issues. Manage and resolve these issues and/or maintain carriage and seek SME support as necessary. Collaborate with other maintenance leads/personnel to optimise the maintenance operational practices driving efficiencies across the business. Collaborate with planning team to ensure the projects are planned and right number of trades are allocated to carry out the work. Manage key Sydney Water stakeholders and build collaborative relationships including with treatment and network hub managers, SW maintenance leads. Work within the Major Periodic Maintenance Team as required by work profile changes.

 

ABOUT YOU 

Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence. Required to work flexible hours to meet demands and be able to travel to metropolitan sites when necessary. Strong history of working within the mechanical industry. Experience in mechanical infrastructure projects including planning, procurement and familiar with different type of equipment in water and wastewater industry inclusive of but not limited to pumps, screens, Grit handing, mechanical pipework, fittings, valves, and other mechanical infrastructure items. Demonstrated safety leadership skills and experience. Relevant project engineering industry experience in Utilities or a related discipline. Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline. Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level. Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
