Project Engineer - Roadway

Project Engineer 

Pay Range: Competitive and based on industry experience. 100-125k  

Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday, with additional days as required 

Objective: 

The Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting the Project Manager and Project Superintendent. Responsibilities focus on assisting with goal setting, planning, communication, organization, implementation, and tracking to ensure project success. 

Key Responsibilities: 

- Collect, organize, review, and distribute project submittals 

- Manage plan drawings, including updates and revisions 

- Maintain and update all required project logs 

- Conduct material take-offs 

- Liaise with owners, client representatives, subcontractors, and suppliers 

- Calculate pricing and prepare contracts and purchase orders for subcontractors and suppliers 

- Coordinate subcontractor schedules and material deliveries 

- Keep a well-organized workspace while juggling multiple projects 

- Draft reports, business correspondence, and project documentation 

- Clearly present information in one-on-one or small group settings to clients, customers, and team members 

- Interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operating manuals, and procedural instructions 

- Take on additional tasks as assigned 

Qualifications: 

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field 

- Candidates with three or more years of relevant experience (as described in this role) will also be considered 

- Strong working knowledge of Primavera 3 and 6 

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint 

- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English 

- Solid grasp of basic algebra, geometry, and construction math concepts 

- Valid driver’s license for occasional travel as needed 

- Ability to identify issues, gather data, analyze facts, and reach sound conclusions 

- Capability to interpret complex technical instructions, including mathematical and diagrammatic formats, while handling both abstract and practical variables 

- Moderate physical stamina for administrative tasks, with some outdoor exposure to varying weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind) 

- Ability to navigate minor obstacles on foot at construction sites 

- Sufficient manual dexterity to handle items and perform detailed work
