About this Role

This role reports to the Sustainability manager – Scotch. The role has no direct reports

To work as part of a technical team based in Scotland to deliver net zero carbon in the Scotch category operational footprint by 2030 by implement of the carbon reduction programme.Work closely with site operations, Global Project Engineering and business partnering functions to lead and support a range of projects to deliver the carbon reduction agenda across 30 distilleries, 4 maltings, 1 bottling hall and the maturation and coopering footprint.Continually provide technical insights to improve and enhance the performance of existing carbon reduction technology, whilst driving energy efficiency with considerations of cost, environmental and energy targets.Benchmark internally and externally to Identify new technical insights to unlock performance pushing the boundaries to breakthrough performance.Build and sustain working relationships with other functional stakeholders within the Scotch category (i.e. finance, human resources, risk & governance, procurement) to deliver holistic solutions to challenges.

Top Key Accountabilities are:

Demonstrate uncompromising drive to deliver step change sustainability performance in respect to carbon reduction.Support continuous improvement and problem-solving activities by providing/utilising technical knowledge and experience presented logically and codified using Data & Analytics techniques and tools.Coach Stakeholders and customers to improve technical understanding and capability.Encourage a growth mind-set to problems faced and empower people to take ownership.Role model and champion the use of data and analytics tools and systemic root cause problem-solving tools within the Scotch category.Identify the need for multi-disciplinary problem-solving teams to address systemic problems.Willingness and ability to travel to other Scotch sites within Scotland.

To be successful in this role, you need:

Master’s degree level qualification or equivalent in Chemical Engineering subject area.  Experienced in leading and delivering projects within a functional team.Experienced in working in partnership.Track record of phenomenal engagement and communication skills.Experienced in Statistical analysis Tools & IS Packages.Lean / Six Sigma qualification and or experience beneficialFull Clean Driving Licence with >1 year experience
