Engine Control Systems (ECS) provides complete jet engine controls and accessory packages. From the fuel tank to the igniters, we have the resources and expertise to design, qualify, and manufacture first in class central systems for our aerospace engine customers.

ECS is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team to support the Fuel Metering product line. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the coordination of the design, fabrication, procurement, assembly and testing of the engine control system fuel metering components.

What You Will Do

Execute Design Verification Testing and Qualification Testing per customer/regulatory approved test plans

Manage Total Manufacturing Cost (TMC) for product and lead cost reduction initiates on component and/or fuel metering product line

Provide staffing plans using the Collins Manpower Planning Tool, including detailed plans through all disciplines and an outsourcing plan, also by discipline, which meet project milestones and budget.

Drive and implement Relentless Root Cause & Corrective Action (RRCA) processes, using the applicable CORE tools to ultimately facilitate design integrity improvements and enhanced Engineering Standard Work (ESW) practices.

Coordinate the management and closure of all supplier-interfacing related activities including fabrication processing issues, Flight Safety Frozen Process Review Board deliverables and dispositions to supplier Quality Notices (QNs) and requests for information (SRIs)

Coordinating all Collins Engineering Change (CR) activities for all drawings & solid models

Drive project execution of technical requirements to budget and schedule through implementation of the Program Management System Standard (PMSS) and the IPD Team process

Coordinate activities with Collins Supply Chain Management and the Mechanical Engine Systems (MES) Operations team to meet Production yield targets

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience in providing engineering investigation support and conducting engineering tests to assess product performance and identify areas for improvement.

Experience in applying mechanical and hydro-mechanical principles to diagnose hardware issues and propose effective corrective actions.

Familiarity with basic data analysis, processing, and plotting techniques using MATLAB or equivalent tools to support testing and engineering evaluations.

Experience in writing comprehensive test plans and reports, documenting findings, results, and recommendations in a clear and professional manner.

Knowledge of working with fuel and hydraulic test rigs, understanding their operations, and ensuring proper testing protocols are followed.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Project tools, enabling effective reporting and team collaboration.

Proven experience in working within teams or leading team projects, demonstrating strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving capabilities.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
