Project & Engineering Lead, China
Direct responsibility for delivery of multiple and/or complex projects that generate new products and/or processes which are of commercial value to JM, or responsible for the provision of support in key technology areas. Site focused roles will have cross discipline responsibility for a medium size and complex facility; or a large facility responsible for one or two engineering disciplines; responsible for all equipment and technologies used in the area/site.Job purpose

Leading project and engineering team in China to ensure successful and cost effective new project engineering, project coordination, vendor management..

Developing and implementing China engineering and project team development strategy.

Principal accountabilitiesMaintain high EHS standards for all activities in project & project team. Undertake site risk assessments prior to traveling to operating plants.Lead, develop and coach local project and engineering team for building strong capabilities.Develop project and engineering strategy in line with CT China business strategy:Work in conjunction with the commercial function, develop and execute a project & engineering strategy for JM CT China.Maintain good relationship with headquarter project and engineering team to share and exchange best practice to allow improvement in JM’s offerings.Ensure the work is performed according to management system and JM policies.To manage a team of local Engineers, ensuring the team development and succession plan in place.ScopeDefine and implement China project & engineering strategy.Manage project & engineering team with 9 team members.Co-work with global technical and R&D teams to improve JM’s technical offer and solution.Co-work with global project management team to ensure successful new license BEP, commissioning and start-up delivery.Define cost estimation of projectsEnsure collaboration between Beijing and headquarter officesImplement and align work procedures project executionDevelop and maintain vendor relationshipsDevelop and maintain relationship with design institute and authorities Technical assistance to commercial and technical service teamsEnsure project objectives are reached in terms of cost, time, quality and safetyDefine and nominate project resourcesSupplier selection, approval, relationship and auditsMonitoring project finical transactionsHandling complaint and claim (customers and suppliers)Develop technical application & service team development/succession plan.

Special factors

100-150 travel days per yearFrequent communication with JM office outside China

Qualifications/ knowledge/ experience

Degree most likely to be Master Process Engineering or similarBroad experiences of technical project management in chemical/oil-gas industryDocumented experiences in leading positionsInternational experiencesProven experience of networking and communication with customers relationExperience in similar roleUnderstanding and knowledge of local vendor market for process industry equipment

Personal skills and key competencies

Leadership skills and coaching capacitiesCommercial interested, engaged, structural, willingness to contribute and share and pursue the daily work and relationship buildingGood English communication skill, both on writing and oral
