What You'll Do:
As the Technical Leader of Industrial Automation, Process Control, Instrumentation and Electrical, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation leading the design, development and implementation of electrical equipment/instrumentation/ automation-control solutions used to transform the way process chemicals at our Deer Park Tx facility.
What We're Looking For:
Passionately lead, mentor and manage a team of subject matter experts and foster a collaborative, productive team environment while encouraging professional development and continuous improvement. Prioritize and ensure process safety in engineering designs to comply internal and industry standards, regulations and safety protocols in project planning and execution. Be a focal technical expert for electrical/automation/process control/instrumentation project teams from a design, construction and commissioning perspective. Present highly technical information and projects to diverse audiences. Track and Communicate performance and progress of multiple projects. Identify risks and oversee mitigation. Influence internal stakeholders in a matrix organization. Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality of installation work. Lead reviews and approve engineering designs, drawings and specifications while ensuring that all engineering design complies with industry standards and regulations Ensuring design standards/code compliance in electrical systems instrumentation and PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMI, and other technologies.
Skills That Make a Difference:
Bachelor’s degree Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field 5 or more years of experience as an Automation Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Instrumentation Engineer or similar role in Chemical, Petroleum or similar industrial facility. Experience with solution design standards / code compliance in electrical systems, instrumentation, PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMI and other technologies. Demonstrated hands-on experience with various industry programming languages. Exceptional troubleshooting experience and expertise. Experience with managing people, vendors, contractors, leading projects, collaborating with cross functional teams. Experience with formal Project Management Practices including Stage Gate process. Professional Engineer certification is a plus.
