If you are an Engineering professional looking to for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you!  As a Project Engineering Manager - Centrifugal, based in Sidney, OH location, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, implementing, supporting engineering lab and managing the all the compressor testing and system integration in developing world class centrifugal compressor product. In this position you will work closely with the design engineering, engineering lab, aerodynamic engineering, motor development team, AME, program management, procurement, and operations to coordinate and enable, high quality, high performing, and reliable functioning of this new global product. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, tech savvy, process-oriented person.

AS A PROJECT ENGINEERING MANAGER, YOU WILL:

Responsible for the complex technical work to document and track the integration and interface with design, construction, and acceptance testing of compressorsValidate defined design performances, operations, and other specified criteria, including good engineering practices that comply with the project design documents, federal, state and industry regulatory requirementsCoach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project engineering team membersDevelop Control and Monitoring of the compressorGet deep into details of technical project oversight of the assigned projects including Design Validation, System Validation and Integration ProcessSupport sales with system solutions as requiredTechnical support for customers both internal and externalDrive the development of Centrifugal Compressor project and system integration by making data driven decisionsCollaborate with Test lab, Design Engineering, Aero, AME, and other cross-functional groupsEnsure all production related technologies, equipment, and processes meet all safety requirements in accordance with applicable industry standards Drive continuous improvement by utilizing lean principles

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or related manufacturing technical degree or combination of education and experience.Experience in design, layout, operation, testingExperience with Compressor Controls, PLC programmingAt least (8) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceGood organizational, project management, presentation, and collaboration skillsAbility to recognize and solve simple and complex problems in controls, testing and systemAbility to manage mulitple projects in a fast-paced engineering environmentUnderstanding of lean principles Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programsAbility to travel up to 10-15% of the time including some international travel

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 

About (10) years of related experience, or a combination of education and experienceExperience with Centrifugal Compressor design, layout and testingHVACR Experience is a plus3D CAD Software, PLM (Team Center Preferred) and OracleExperience and Proficiency with assembly, quality tools and processes is a plusExperience in Machine Design and AutomationProficient in performing manufacturing DFMEA / PFMEA

Flexible Work Schedule – Core Hours
This role has the flexibility of a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

About Our Location
Our newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit. Through our many years of compressor expertise, our products help bring comfort and convenience to refrigeration, commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions. With the blend of businesses and functions represented under this one roof.
