Project Environmental Scientist/Part 360 Compliance
Position: Project Hydrogeologist/Environmental Scientist Job Location: Bohemia, NY Expire Date: Description: Assist Project Managers on a variety of Compliance projects. Assist managing environmental field investigations at large, complex sites; prepare both routine due diligence and complex site investigation reports; and coordinate staff, subcontractors, and vendors in field activities. This position is a mix of field and office work. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following: + Assume responsibility for maintaining your utilization/billable goals + Interact with clients, contractors, vendors, and regulators in the field - represent PWGC in a positive and respectful manner + Proficient in technical writing skills and relevant regulations + Prepare draft plans/technical reports including tables and figures, develop rationale for sample locations and interpret data, with appropriate conclusions and recommendations + Continually improve existing methods and procedures at experience level + Produce Annual Waste Reports for various Solid Waste clients + Provide consultation to solid waste clients, recommending improvements to facility operations to maintain regulatory compliance + Oversee geoprobe drilling for monitoring well installations, development, and groundwater sampling + Coordinate with local and federal agencies and third parties to provide services to client facilities + Conduct field inspections and audits to assess compliance with Part 360 regulations + Prepare comprehensive permit applications, renewals, and modifications for Solid Waste Management Facilities in compliance with current NYSDEC Part 360 and DSNY regulations QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science/Studies or related science EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum three years experience OR masters degree and 2 years of experience KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Effective technical writing skills. Proficient in MS Office.. Must be able to perform field work. Local travel required, lifting to 50 lbs. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to clients, peers, and supervisors, both verbally and in writing; coordinate confusing and often conflicting priorities; decision-making, analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills. Contractor oversight and organizational skills.
