As Primark continues to expand across new and existing markets with the aim of reaching 530 stores by the end of 2026, and this role will play a significant role in it. Reporting to the Head of Small Works & Refits, you will lead and deliver new store, refurbishment, and small projects, implementing global projects and initiatives within existing stores. These will range from significant space change projects to implementing new food and beverage/licensed offer, and managing rollout projects. Working as part of the Store Development Global team based in the UK but covering all 17 markets, you will also contribute to developing innovative strategies to deliver high-quality projects to the business.

What You'll Do:

Ensure that the projects within your control are delivered on time, within budget and to a high degree of quality and health and safety.Be responsible for assembling the Brief, Programme and Cost Plan for all projects within your control.Liaise with Director of Construction, Head of Function, Construction Manager & Feasibility Manager as necessary to develop accurate feasibility plansManage and control overall spending against the agreed budget, discussing any variances with the appropriate stakeholders and project team members.Apply and ensure all adhere to project standards and project management disciplines.Develop strategic project plans with key stakeholders, translate these into project deliverables, and manage and report against these deliverables.Co-ordinate the development of project plans and take a high-level view of all the projects and initiatives under your control, identifying interdependencies, gaps and anomalies.Manage the progress of all projects through regular dialogue with project teams and stakeholders, assessing the potential impact of change on these projects and taking cognisance of the effect on the business, thus ensuring change management is correctly dealt with.Address ambiguity across and within projects and identify where improvements can be made over current practice.Manage risk throughout the life of the project(s), ensuring it has been correctly identified, prioritised, and managed.Troubleshoot problems/barriers encountered throughout the projects and bring these to a satisfactory conclusion having secured the support of key stakeholders.Define responsibilities and make optimal use of the resources available to the projects.Identify the parties required to be involved and involve them in evaluating the project’s success. Ensure the outcomes are communicated and that actions can be followed up.Build a network of contacts within a peer group and across the business, compiling a detailed knowledge of the structure and goals of the different departments and stakeholders.Ability to represent Primark Store Development internally and externally to ensure Primark retains its innovative and modern approach to development and construction delivery solutionsEnsure Primark operating procedures, local building codes, and regulations are fully complied with.Report regularly to the Head of Construction on project progress issuesMonitor, review and undertake key performance reviews on all contractors and consultants.

What you'll bring:

We want every person in our organisation to feel like they're making a key contribution. Here are some of the experiences and skills you'll need for the role:

Educated to degree level and having a professional management qualification. A chartered construction industry professional (RICS, CIOB, RIBA etc.) with a minimum of 5 years' experience in construction, refurbishment, programme and project management of significant work streams and projects, developing, building and refurbishing properties. Alternatively, candidates with relevant experience working in the shopfit/retail industry will also be considered.In order to manage projects effectively, a good working knowledge of legal and contractual documents and mechanisms that support construction and development project management is essential. Support will be provided for in-country requirements, as each region will vary.Proficient computer and IT literacy skillsExcellent organising and planning skills with the ability to co-ordinate and manage multiple projects and Initiatives working to tight deadlinesEffective collaboration and guidance skillsProficiency in English
