ABOUT THE ROLE

\n

We are seeking a versatile Field Service & Project Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and management of building automation, security, and fire protection systems. This role blends technical expertise with project coordination, ensuring seamless system implementation and customer satisfaction.

\n

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting while also being able to manage small-to-mid-sized projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

\n

You will travel to customer sites in the Charlotte, NC area, and occasionally work out of the corporate office in Charlotte.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Project Coordination & Management

\n\nOversee system installation projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and specifications are met.\nWork closely with electrical and mechanical contractors to align system integration efforts.\nManage equipment deliveries, storage, and proper on-site installation.\nCoordinate with engineers and design teams to ensure the system meets project requirements.\nMaintain documentation, including change requests, work orders, and project reports.\n\n

Customer Support & Training

\n\nConduct system demonstrations and functional training sessions for customers.\nProvide technical support and guidance to clients, resolving issues efficiently.\nAssist sales teams with site surveys, system recommendations, and upgrade opportunities.\n\n

System Installation & Commissioning

\n\nInstall, configure, and test automation, security, and fire protection systems.\nPerform system startups, functional testing, and fine-tuning to ensure optimal performance.\nDiagnose and troubleshoot system issues, implementing effective solutions.\nIntegrate and communicate with third-party systems using various industry protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, LON, etc.).\n

MUST HAVE

\n\nMust have one of the following:\n\nNorth Carolina Building Contractors License OR\nNASCLA Commercial Building Contractors License\n\n\nPLUS: NC Business & Law Exam\n5+ years of experience in system installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, or project management in building automation, fire protection, or security systems.\nValid driver’s license and ability to travel within the service area.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\n\n

WE VALUE

\n\nTechnical Degree or Certification\nStrong ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams.\nExcellent communication and customer service skills.\nExperience managing projects up to $200K.\nNiagara Tridium Certification.\n\n
