SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:

 

Through the execution of work programs and the interpretation of results, both directly and indirectly through supervision of other staff and contractors, actively contribute to the discovery and delineation of mineral resources in North America.

 

 

Role accountabilities:

Carry out exploration activities including geological mapping, geochemical sampling programs, and drill testing of targets. Provide interpretations derived from the datasets collected and provide recommendations aligned with company objectives and strategies. Work closely with peers and assist the Senior Geologist and Exploration Manager in the planning and scheduling of field and other activities in country. Prepare timely, accurate, and detailed reports, maps, plans and sections. Supervise contractors in the field to implement the plans in a safe and sustainable manner. Ensure that work is completed in accordance with the Company and regulatory requirements and standards. Assist in project appraisals, critically assess data for accuracy and quality and make objective assessments on exploration potential.

 

Technical Competencies:

​​​​​​​Proficient in wide range of exploration practices and techniques, including geochemistry, structural geology, geological mapping, GIS, sampling methods, drilling and geophysical interpretation.  Able to apply appropriate modelling and analytical systems, tools, and skills to develop an understand of the target/deposit. Strong understanding of GIS and modelling software preferred (ArcGIS Pro, Leapfrog Geo, and ioGAS).              

 

Leadership Competencies:

Strong awareness of, and ability to manage, safety, health, community, and environmental requirements in the workplace and at the project site.   Preforms activities with limited supervision while remaining within agreed boundaries of activities, methodologies, and company policies & procedures.          Foster a positive team environment and able to function as both a supportive peer and/or a team leader as the project or work program requires. Able to collaborate well with others, and willing to act as a mentor to both peers and junior staff in areas of expertise.

 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of 2+ Years of experience in exploration and within the gold sector preferred.               Additional experience and/or education in porphyry, epithermal, and/or carlin style mineralization is preferred                      

 

REQUIRED GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

 

BSc or higher (preferred) in a Geoscience-related degree.   Valid driver’s license and proficiency in operating 4WD vehicles.        First aid required but can be undertaken after employment.

 

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a full-time predominantly field based position. Days and hours of work are typically on rotation with 18 days on site and 10 days off, with 12-hour workdays. Rotations and hours may be adjusted to reflect periods dedicated to office based or other non-field related activities.

 

COMPENSATION:

Base Salary Range $90,000 - $105,000
