SUMMARY OF THE ROLE Project HR & Payroll Administrator Location - Mumbai, India Working Arrangement: Hybrid (combination of on-site and remote work) We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Project HR & Payroll Administrator to support our payroll operations and HR functions. This role involves managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and overseeing the employee lifecycle from hiring to retirement. While experience in HR and payroll is preferred, we welcome candidates with some experience who are eager to learn and demonstrate the right attitude and mindset. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Payroll Administration: Process employee payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Maintain and validate timesheets and integrate data into the payroll system. Handle payroll accounting, including cost center allocations and general ledger (GL) postings. Calculate and deduct income taxes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and tax slabs. Prepare and file quarterly and annual income tax returns, including employee TDS filings. Generate payroll reports and provide analysis for management review. HR Administration: Support project operations by managing the entire employee lifecycle, from hiring to retirement. Coordinate onboarding and induction programs for new hires. Maintain employee records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Assist with employee engagement activities, performance reviews, and training programs. Manage offboarding processes, including exit formalities and documentation. Act as a point of contact for employee queries related to HR policies, payroll, and benefits. WHAT YOU’LL NEED Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Accounting, or a related field. 5-6 years of experience in payroll and HR functions is preferred. Candidates willing to learn and have the right attitude are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in SAP and payroll modules is a plus. Strong understanding of income tax calculations and TDS filings. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic project environment.
